ALLAH THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE WINDOW



	ALLAH THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE WINDOW This 30 year old window was produced by my company in Denver Colorado as an example of the intricacies that could be achieved in cutting and polishing heavy lead crystal. At the time I was producing large domed ceilings and exhibiting them in the Middle East. I became enamored with ancient Kufic script and made it my goal to produce a work of singular beauty emphasizing a verse from the Koran. I chose as my subject Allah The Light of the Universe. Special machinery was produced to achieve the extreme convolutions in the high lead content heavy English crystal. (In the photograph, all of the whitish looking areas are thick, beveled edge crystal. See details). This machinery consisted of a diamond sintered wire loop band saw to cut the very tight inside corners in the crystal plate and hand made stone cones from Newcastle England to grind and polish the same. The window was made by my best artisan and me over the course of two years. It was featured in an exhibit in Kuwait in 1981.
